She is also a co Founder of Shred Union, shredunion.com a premier social networking site for snowboarders, mountain resorts and snow sports retailers, where she coordinates all of the strategic marketing and positioning.
Ms. van Tongeren started her career in technology in 1997 as a MicroSoft Technet customer care specialist at Zomax in Dublin, Ireland. Working at Zomax is what sparked her curiosity for technology and especially for the internet. She taught herself Linux and had her first ‘homepage’ on Geocities.com in 1997. Nowadays we would call such homepages ‘blogs.
Ms. Van Tongeren founded miamitalent.com which became one of the fastest growing talent communities in South Florida, providing models, actors and actresses a unique virtual office that gave them access to important information, services, and contacts they needed to manage their budding careers. MiamiTalen became known as the standard in the next evolution for recruiting talent. In a short period of time Ms. Van Tongeren sold the company only to start a bigger national venture, TalentGuide, premier online community where models, actors, artists, performers and industry professionals were able to meet, interact, and develop their careers on the road to success. It is safe to say that she loves to connect people and help them follow their dreams and achieve their goals.
Ms. Van Tongeren has always been intrigued by the new developments on the Internet, and with a keen sense of where the market is going started providing consulting to numerous organizations to build their web presence. Besides being a Principal at Secret Sauce Labs, she is currently consulting for Tube2tone.com an emerging web 2.0 company.
Ms. Van Tongeren is passionate about networking on- as well as off-line and is a an active member of WIAS (Women in Action Sports), girls in tech in NYC, the web 2.0 female entrepreneurs network and Group Y, an action sports and youth marketing network.

Ms. Van Tongeren is not only adventuress online, but also finds the time to snowboard and skate around the world. She loves challenges and she recently “tweeted” her way through the NYC Marathon. The fact that she never ran a race in her life before did not stop her. She is an active participant in non profit organizations such as ExtremeMiami.com and the New york Snowboarding Group. She also finds time in her busy schedule to help teach the elderly how to use the internet and email to communicate with their families through New York City’s biggest volunteer organization ‘New York Cares’.
