Finally, after years of fighting it, covering it up, pinching it, wearing hats and painfull (medical) facials I made the decision to go on accutane. It’s been tough as it’s a rather controversial drug. People wonder if the side effects are worth taking the drug. I think that those people haven’t dealt with adult acne.
So yeah, I started my accuntane cycle two days ago. I can already tell that my throat is a bit sore, dry mouth and dry eyes/ nose. Also, I was exhausted yesterday… more like lifeless. I am emotional, but I think that’s hormonal… as we are entering the beginning of the new month again (yeah… it’s that time). I will keep a diary to keep up with what is happening and how I feel.
The other thing is… the website went live. It’s still a big mess, but I am making changes using dreamweaver and after that I will start the advertising campaign. Very excited, scared shitless, but I know that if I do the right thing… it’ll rock!
Not too much else happening, getting ready for Huntington Beach to go to BoardFest and see my friend E. She has a similar company as I do, so it’ll be so much fun to catch up and inspire eachother.(my myspace boyfriend ditched me for a porn star, so I will have to find a hotel…).
Tired, and sore from skateboarding… making some progress though… woohoo.

Wow, those are some serious side effects. Hope they’re not too bad. And, as I mentioned the other day, I totally think you look fine and don’t need Accutane. =+)

One of the listed side effects is “minimal bone change.”
Have you tried some of the topical regiments? I’ve known some folks that “Proactive” worked for.

Trust me, I have tried everything. The accutane was my last option, so after 7 years or so and thousands of dollars, not to mention very very painful treatments I chose to give it a try.
So far, I suffered some sides, like dry cracked lips (manageble with a lot Aguaphor ointment), extreme exhaustion in the beginning…., dry eyes and nose (over noew) now I am peeling all over… my face is so much better already, I can see the difference in texture.

I totally understand. I’m on my third round on accutane as I had severe acne and topical treatments, creams and even facials do not work! Accutane is not fun while you’re on it (wear sunscreen and absolutely no waxing allowed) but when you’re done and for once don’t have to cover up a blemished face, soooo worth it!
